영어 수업 자료 : 라이밍 단어(Rhyming Words)

 

리밍(rhyming)은 운율, 운, 또는 압운이라고 합니다. 음악과 시, 동화에서 중요한 개념 중 하나로, 두 개 이상의 문장이나 구절의 끝부분에 비슷한 소리나 단어를 사용하는 것을 가리킵니다. 라이밍은 음악과 시에서 멋진 리듬을 만들어내고, 듣는 사람에게 재미를 줍니다. 예를 들어, 동요, 팝, 랩 등 가사에서 "come 〔컴〕"과 "some 〔썸〕" 또는 "night 〔나이트〕"과 "light 〔라이트〕"과 같이 단어의 끝부분이 비슷한 소리를 내면 운(율)이 맞는다고 합니다. 이를 영어로 rhyming words라고 합니다.

 

아래 동요, 팝, 시를 활용해서 rhyming words를 찾아보겠습니다.

영어 노래나 동시로 설명하기 전에 더 쉽게 학생들에게 rhyming words를 알려주고 싶다면 PSY(싸이)의 챔피언 노래를 들려줘도 아주 좋습니다. rhyming words 가 귀에 쏙쏙 들어올 겁니다.
